Meet the Teacher – Patrick Zelinski
Patrick Zelinski, the owner and founder of Overture Music has been passionately pursuing music for the last 20 years. His decision to pursue guitar as a career was kick-started during late high-school, while co-writing in the bank Noriyah, who garnered success in Northwestern Ontario, appearing on CBC Radio, and winning various song-writing contests.
Upon moving to Calgary to enrich his musical education, he received targeted training in Classical, Jazz, and Rock guitar, as well as vocal and Harmony theory coaching. Patrick has since gained experience as a studio instructor with Vivace Studios and Rhythmic Studios, where he has instructed over 100 students of all ages in guitar and theory. Patrick has drawn upon all these experiences to create a targeted, effective learning plan that he puts into practice with students of Overture Music.
Patrick’s curriculum targets constant progression by having students always aiming for new goals, comparable to the academic subjects taught by the Royal Conservatory of Music. His style is distinguished, however, by encouraging students to take initiative in applying the technique and knowledge towards improvising and creating.
Patrick’s commitment to music and his students is evident in every lesson, helping Overture Music accumulate clients throughout Calgary and Cochrane.
